Andrew Walker Talks to Atticus Readers
This week saw the first session of our Atticus Readers group from Reading Room and our first guest speaker was Andrew Walker, 202-game veteran at AFL Carlton Football Club, Seniors Co-coach for the local Echuca Football and Netball Club, and local business owner of Gravity Shack, amongst other achievements. Andrew, a former St. Joseph’s College student, spoke to the students about his career in sport and business, and the importance and advantages of being a reader in his life, even though he started off not liking reading at school. He brought along one of his favourite books, Legacy by James Kerr. Students asked questions of Andrew and spoke about their own reading journeys.
Jigsaw Fun
We have a 1000-piece jigsaw in the Library and students and staff are gradually getting it completed. It’s a welcome addition to the lunch and recess activities in the Library.
