Term 3 - over and out!

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful term! Full of learning, hands on experiences and fun along the way!  The students have worked very hard all across the curriculum areas. It's great to see them growing and developing in so many different ways.  Thanks to those families who have responded to my email regarding volunteers for our Community Fair - thank you! I will send out the roster week 1 next term.  We are looking forward to a wonderful community day on SATURDAY 19th OCTOBER!

Here are some thoughts from our Foundie learners from Term 3.

"What learning was fun this term?"

- "Ordinal numbers." - Ellery

- "When we do new maths." - Eva

- "Going to the traffic school." - Logan

- "Learning to play down ball with the big kids." - Noah

- "I love mental maths." - Taylor

- "Ordinal numbers." - Tyler

- "Everything!" - Will

Don't you love that!

Home Learning & Activities

We have sent home camera words for our students to practise over the break.  There is an expectation that students know these words - can read and write them - by the end of Term 4.  Students will be learning a whole new lot of camera words as they begin Year 1 in Junior School.  Time spent now consolidating concepts and word knowledge is setting your child up for great learning routines as they move throughout primary school and into secondary school.  Words can be practised playing games of hangman or writing them on whiteboards or paper.  Thanks for your support!

Holiday Activities

Here are a few things that are happening around the place if you feel like venturing out these holidays.

There is a Lynlee Dodd exhibition (author or Hairy Maclary books) at the Lilydale Museum - thanks Amy Davis for the recommendation.

If you fancy venturing out further there is The Cat in the Hat showing at the Drum Theatre in Dandenong.

Cars!

We are after donations of toy cars for our co-operative play box.... PLEASE!  I think the cars over the years have ended up in some students pockets!  We would be so grateful for some cars - thank you!

Term 4

As we move into the final term for 2019, please don't forget to log onto Sentral and tie up all the end of year activities with payments and permissions.   We have our excursion to Mornington Beach booked for Tuesday 3rd December! Parent helpers are welcome!!!

We also have swimming booked for week 4 - see Sentral for details.

Have a wonderful spring holiday with your family and we look forward to another term full of fun and learning as we celebrate a great year together.  Thanks families for your support!
