Mid-Year Examinations

Year 10 to 12

In the coming weeks our students from Years 10 through to 12 will be undertaking their mid year examinations. These exams are vital in their preparation for Year 12 English, which leads to a very important end of year examination which will be worth 50% of their final English study score.

Students have been undertaking revision classes, where the importance of revising over notes, writing practice pieces as well as the importance of time management in an exam has been discussed.

Good luck to all students undertaking an exam over the next fortnight.

Premier's Reading Challenge

Both teaching and library staff have been working with our students this year to encourage them to Read, Read More, Read More Widely as a part of the Premier’s Reading Challenge.

Reading is such a vital skill, both in everyday life and the English classroom and it’s important that our students engage in as much reading outside of the classroom as possible.

Our latest update shows that thirty one students have completed the challenge, having read fifteen books already this calendar year. A total of 1851 books have been read by our students and sixty one of our teaching staff have joined the students in taking on the challenge.

Well done to all students taking part and broadening their knowledge and skills through reading!

Writing Folio

A reminder to parents and guardians, that students will need to submit their completed writing folios in the coming weeks.

For many students, this will mean completing some pieces and putting the final ‘polish’ on conferences pieces of work.

A conversation with your son or daughter about where they currently stand with their folio could be beneficial in ensuring they are on track to submit their best possible work.
