Attendance Ladder

The attendance ladder is still underway. The winner is to be announced during the last week of term. A Pizza lunch is coming to one Home Group’s way. Check out the ladder outside the Junior School Office.

Principal’s Award

The students pictured at the top of the page, should be congratulated for their outstanding work ethic. They were rewarded for their hard work and dedication by Ms McMillian, Assistant Principal, following our Seth Franco Incursion.  What a fantastic effort by all!

Wellbeing and Resilience Program

Currently all Year 7 students are participating in an ongoing 'Resilience and Wellbeing Program'.

Every week in Home Group, students are given a task to focus on for the week. The last week saw all students look at exercise and mental health. An intriguing video was shown in all Home Groups across Year 7 and some very important and thoughtful discussion took place.

In the following newsletter we will have reflections from the students on what they have been discussing and the importance of health and wellbeing.

As part of this program, students also participated in a Seth Franco Incursion.

Seth Franco Incursion

Friday 27 May - Periods 1 & 2

This was an amazing incursion which all Year 7 students had the opportunity to be a part of.

Seth reflected on his life challenges and the hard work and dedication it took to play professional basketball.   Seth talked about resilience and persistence, while engaging the students in an entertaining basketball performance.

We encourage all students to reflect on this day and to share Seth’s story and its powerful meaning.

Reminders

The cooler weather is now upon us and we remind all students to be wearing their school jumper and spray jackets to school. It is recommended that students are wearing their winter uniform.

As the end of term approaches, students should be endeavouring to finish all incomplete work and catching up with their teachers to make sure they are up to date.

Year 7 Coordinators

Year 8

Lilydale High School has always been a very safe place to learn. We are very proud of our students and are really pleased with the way people conduct themselves both around the yard and in class.

In order to maintain this reputation and security, students are reminded to please be sure to keep your lockers locked at all times and remember to change the passwords on your devices regularly, without sharing them with your friends.

Keep up the good work!

Zohab Zee Khan - Spoken Word Poetry

Thursday 9 June

All Year 8 students will participate in poetry workshop before they undertake their unit on poetry. The workshop encourages and inspires students to write about their experiences and how they can do this effectively.
