SEALP Testing Day
Last week we tested forty wonderful aspirants for next year’s intake into the Select Entry Accelerated Learning program.
Students currently in Grade 6 from many surrounding primary schools were tested in their skills in mathematics, reading and comprehension as well as a general abilities test.
Following testing, we will be recalling a number of these children back for an interview, before inviting successful applicants to join our program in 2018.
Please consult our website should you have any questions regarding our program for next year, or call Janine Sayers at the school.

Education Week
Students and teachers celebrated Education Week with many fun and educational activities that display the wonderful teaching and learning opportunities we engage in here at LHS.
Whilst the Mathematics department conducted exciting maths games, Technology had students build towers with straws and marshmallows.
In the Library students and teachers participated in some quieter story time sessions that the students enjoyed very much.
The festivities continue beyond the official week, with the annual Literary Lunch still to be held. At this event, winners of our writing competition will present their creative pieces to invited guests, the Principal team and their teachers as well as enjoy a sumptuous lunch. We look forward to hearing the array of stories from our very talented students.
Mid Year Exams
Years 10 - 12 students will soon be sitting their mid-year examinations and for VCE students, their final Unit 1 and 3 School Assessed Coursework tasks.
Students are reminded that regular and ongoing revision of classwork as well as the completion of all assigned tasks will assist them in achieving to the best of their ability.
Year 12 students and Year 11 students who are studying a Year 12 subject will also be completing the General Achievement Test (GAT) in June.
We wish all our students well in their endeavours as they approach this most important assessment period.
Common Assessment Tasks
Students in Years 7 to 10 will also be completing their final Common Assessment Tasks in all subjects in the coming weeks.
We urge all of our students to complete tasks to the best of their ability, to come to class on time and ready to learn with all required resources and to engage in a positive manner at all times. This will ensure they receive a Satisfactory result across all learning areas.
We ask that parents and guardians also remind students of the importance of always working to achieve their very best.
