FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Open Night

My, thanks to all who contributed to a wonderful open night on Thursday May 11, it was a great showcase of our school by students and staff.

Special thanks to Jane Hemmings and Tracey Hope our Transition Co-ordinators who do a superb job in organising the whole event.

Building Works

We have a number of locations around the school that are currently undergoing works to improve their aesthetics and functionality, the first being the replacement of some old relocatable classrooms with new and updated versions. These will be fitted out with everything needed to create comfortable teaching and learning spaces.

There is a new recreation area adjacent to the tennis courts that will include basketball and downball courts and another area for students to sit and chat with friends.

The new Performing Arts Centre surrounds are undergoing garden beatification and new pergolas are being installed in the playground and Middle School area.

The old Performing Arts Centre at the rear of the school is to undergo a refurbishment later in the year and more recreation areas are planned for the junior school.

Performance in class and end of semester reporting

We are just over the half way mark of Term 2 and end of semester reporting is around the corner. I encourage all students to ensure they attend school regularly and up to date with their work in all classes.

Those students who may be unsure of where they are with their work/learning need to check with their classroom teachers and ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities in relation to their approach to and completion of work.

To earn a ‘Satisfactory’ in all subjects (Years 7 to 10) students must;

  • Be prepared with resources and equipment
  • Be punctual to school and class
  • Be persistent, don’t give up
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Complete all work set
  • Complete all assessments to your best
  • Complete all homework

Congratulations - Sporting success

Congratulations to those students involved in our recent sporting successes. The Dirt Bike team, Year 10 EIS Basketball teams and Year 7 A and B Netball teams have all experienced success at a variety of levels – well done to students and coaches.
