STORYTIME - Library

Storytime 2017

On Wednesday 24 May, as part of Lilydale High School’s Education Week celebrations, the Library participated in the the National Simultaneous Storytime.

We read ‘The Cow Tripped Over the Moon’ at the same time as hundreds of public libraries and school libraries across Victoria.

The Library ran four, thirty minute Storytime sessions and over the course of the day, the librarians read about 20 picture books to 250 students of different year levels. The students were eager to share their memories of their favourite childhood picture books with the group and loved listening to the stories read on the day.

Lilydale High School’s librarians are very pleased with the positive feedback we have had from students about the event and we were successful in achieving our goal of helping students who have stopped reading, to remember how much they loved reading so that they might continue to read in the future.
