INTERSCHOOL SHOOT

Melbourne Gun Club
Interschool Shoot
Thursday 27 April saw the running of the Yarra Valley/Lilydale High School Shoot. This is the 4th year of the running of this event at Melbourne Gun Club. It is open to all high school students.
Students from various schools around the state attended. Unfortunately, students from the Hutchins School in Tasmania were unable to attend this year and a NSW school had to pull out at the last moment.
We still managed to have a field of about 130 students on the day and the small amount of rain on the day did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors.
I would like to thank Melbourne Gun Club for the use of their venue, the assistance of Melbourne Gun Club and Melbourne Field and Game members for their assistance on the day.
We would also like to thank FeralX pest control, Yarra Valley Towing and Yarra Glen Bakery for their support.
There was some very stiff competition for our Lilydale students on the day. he winner of the Senior Girls event was Aislin Jones who was a member of the Olympic team in the recent Rio Olympic Games.
The Kath McColl shield (a past teacher at Lilydale High) was won by Nagle College from Bainsdale. Mr Box and I would like to thank the large number of people that assisted prior to the event and on the day to make it the success that it was.
We look forward to our next event in 2018.
