Student News
KADUL
On Wednesday, week 7, we invited Mejeda, Maci and Cindy to present KADUL at our school.
There was outstanding participation from all students; either dancing on stage with the performers or following along in the audience.
The all-female group took into consideration following this years NAIOC theme, “Because of her we can”, which highlights the important positions and triumphs Aboriginal women have had in the past, in communities today and following into the future. They showed us both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures including; song, story, dance, language, clothing and demonstrated some traditional instruments.
It was a fantastic and enjoyable learning experience for everyone!
Fun Run
On Thursday, week 9, Karen and Jess took some students on a fun run. It was organised by Running SA and the Port Adelaide Athletics Club to encourage students and our local community, to get involved and enjoy physical activity in a social and fun environment and to improve mental health and wellbeing.
We had a choice to either run the 5km or walk 3km. A select few chose to run, along with Khoder Jackson who came in 3rd overall. It was a really fun morning, healthy food was provided along with some other games and activities to join in with.
