School Sport SA SAPSASA

Track and Field Metro Championships

On Tuesday September 25th nine of our students represented  Port  SAPSASA in the School Sport SA SAPSASA Track and Field Metro Championships held at SA Athletics Stadium. Port finished 8th out of 18 metro zones. Well done to our athletes who competed well and were excellent representatives of our school. Competition was tough as the best athletes from metropolitan Adelaide were competing for medals and the opportunity to be selected in the 12 and under state team.

Well done to Suraya, Gabi, Noah, Elektra, Ava P and Klaudia who gave their best.

Congratulations to the following medallists.

Marcus u11 100m silver, 200m silver and relay gold.

Amelie u12 100m silver

Ava G u10 200m silver

These three have been invited to nominate for the School Sport SA state team to compete at national championships in Melbourne in November. We are confident that they will gain selection.

Netball

Under 14

This week the U14 Netballers played their very last game for 2018.  It was a very tough year with the competition doubling (due to the redevelopment of St Clair) and were continually defeated but they always had fun and never let losing get them down and always played with good sportsmanship in every game.  This was well rewarded with a wonderful and well deserved win for their final game.

Also big thank you to Jo Antunez (Bella's mum) for managing the team.

Netball

Under 8 White

The Under 8 White netball team started the season with only 2 players who had played netball previously. They trained with enthusiasm and commitment every Friday after school. The commitment quickly paid off with every player showing amazing improvement. The teams hard work translated into many wins on the scoreboard. Congratulations Amelie, Bohdi, Ciena, Jack, Matilda, Mia, Monique and Tahlia.

Sport SA Knockout Softball

27/09/2018

Unfortunately the Largs Bay girls knockout softball team were defeated in the semi-final against Ardtornish PS, with the final score being 10-11. Holly pitched a great 3 innings and Charli did a wonderful job as catcher. They all played really well as a team but were unable to hold off a fast finishing Ardornish. The team represented our school well and displayed our values of Respect, Responsibility and Persistence throughout the competition. This was acknowledged by each opposition that we played.
