STUDENT LEADER'S NEWS

YEAR 12 CAPTAINS

Coming back refreshed after a productive study break, the Year 12’s have successfully transitioned into our final weeks of school.

The Friday morning breakfast, is still running each week providing a fantastic opportunity to relax with peers during such high pressure times.

We look forward to seeing everyone there, and wish everyone well on upcoming SACs.

YEAR 11 CAPTAINS

Welcome back to Semester 2.  We hope you all had a fun and safe holiday. It’s that time of the year again where school starts getting busier. We’ll start completing our SACs and assessment tasks in order to prepare for the final exams at the end of the year.

We wish you the very best of luck for the rest of the year.

VISUAL ARTS

Last term was very busy with the Arts students finishing their final pieces for Semester 1.

Term 3 has begun and it's a very busy time for the Arts section.

In case you've missed it the recycled mural is up in the arts corridor and another mural is well under way.

The Arts Club are asking for donations of plastic bags for the next mural.  Instead of throwing away your plastic bags save them and bring them to Room 4 or Ms Hardy's Office (Staffroom 1) they  will apply ' plastic fusion ' to create another piece. That is also environmentally friendly.

The upcoming October Arts Festival will take place at the beginning of Term 4.  We encourage all students to participate in the exhibition with prizes given to every year level.

Ms Millsom is also working with Year 10 students for the Archibald Prize that is just around the corner. With saying that, discussions over whether the annual Archibald Prize should be expanded to all year levels is an interesting topic.  We would love to hear your opinion, please talk to one of the Arts captains or teachers about this if you're interested.

SCIENCE

Many of our senior students competed in the annual Titration challenge, where we had to calculate the unknown concentration of a substance through volumetric analysis.  It was a great frenzy and success! Winners will be announced in the near future, good luck to those who entered!

Furthermore, the Collision competition is now open to our creative physicists.  Students will be presenting information about the particle accelerator and various concepts of physics through visual/ comic book/ graphic/ filmic means!

We are looking forward to an exciting new term for science!
