Message from the Head of Primary - Miss Claire Dalziel

From the Head of Primary – Miss Claire Dalziel

This week I had the privilege of teaching some of our Infants classes. It was so much fun. We read the picture book, If…By Sarah Perry. This book invites the reader to imagine. There are many possibilities, for example, ‘If caterpillars were toothpaste…, if mice were hair, if leaves were fish and if whales lived in outer space…’. We spent time imagining, wondering and exploring the possibilities of these potential situations. There were many laughs and the children created some beautiful ideas of their own.

I encourage us all to be creative, toy with new ideas and imagine the possibilities, by just using one simple word… if.

Playground Construction

The playground opening is so close… the rain delayed us a couple of days (but wasn’t it lovely!). We’re hoping that everyone will be enjoying the new equipment next week. Many thanks to the people who worked so hard to create a wonderful new play space for our primary students. THANK YOU!

Mufti Day

The last day of Term 2 will be a mufti day for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. We will be raising money for our Compassion Child. Please bring a gold coin donation.

ANZAC Day 2019

The school will be marching on ANZAC Day on Thursday 25 April in Tamworth. This year it falls on the second week of the school holidays. Students wishing to attend are to assemble in Bourke Street, between Peel and Marius Streets at 9:30am in full winter uniform with formal hat for Yrs 3 - 6.  Buccket hats for infants . The students will finish at Kable Avenue near Number One oval.  Students representing CAS in their home towns are welcome to participate in full school uniform as well.

Centenary Weekend

Throughout the Saturday afternoon of the Super Reunion the whole of the Primary School will be open to the public. Please come along and view the wonderful timeline displays that the students have been working on, in line with their learning about the Centenary. Why not bring a friend or the whole family and show them around too? We’d love to show off our school and our learning. All are welcome.
