There have been some major winners over the past few weeks on the court and on the field and these students have been recognised for their efforts at the SFNL vote count award ceremonies recently, and congratulations to them all.

STATE VOLLEYBALL ACHIEVEMENT
Congratulations to Tom and Angus Hermans, who recently won a Division 3 State League Volleyball Grand Final. Tom and Angus play for the Western Phantoms, who represent all of western Victoria, and the title was the first in Division 3 men for the club. Playing most weekends is a big commitment for the boys, so well done to them – and their father, Chris who coached the team.
NETBALL CHAMPS
Year 7 netball team finished runners up in their division and they made it in the semi finals in which they went down by two. The Year 8 team had one win and two losses in their division and didn't make it to finals. We are really proud of the teams achievements - well done.
STUDENT OF THE TERM AWARDS
Term 3 Principal’s Awards were handed out at the College assembly on Monday in the Sacred Heart Church.
Congratulations to Year 7 student Lucy Seiler who was nominated for her participation and working to the best of her ability in all classes. She is always well organised and diligent in her approach to her studies. Her homeroom teacher, Miss Quinlan states, “Lucy is a polite, co-operative and considerate young woman who is always willing to help others.”
Congratulations to Year 8 student Lila Japp who was nominated for being an outstanding contributor and leader at the Mercy Campus. Her friendly nature and determination to success is second to none. Lila is an enthusiastic student who throws herself into everything she does. She seeks to broaden her horizons by participating in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, striving always to be a good role model for other students.
Congratulations to Year 9 student Venkatesh Ramasubramanian who demonstrates a conscientious and consistent approach to his learning; making the most of the opportunities he is presented with, such as the ‘Mini Medicine Day’ and participating in academic competitions for Math’s, Science and English. He represented his house, McAuley by participating in both the swimming carnival and cross-country day.
Congratulations to Year 10 student William Rodgers who strives for academic excellence across all subjects and presents quality work of a very high standard. Will has achieved outstanding achievements in the College Cross Country and Athletic competitions.
Congratulations Year 11 student Joshua Barila. Josh is a talented swimmer and sits on the committee of his swimming club. He teaches young children how to swim and coaches the juniors at his local club. He has been nominated for Swimming Australia’s Local Legends Award. He was named Captain of the Victorian school swimming team. At the State Championships in Hobart, he mentored younger swimmers and was named ‘Sportsman of the Meet’. At the meet, he also addressed the entire swimming stadium attendees in a speech. Josh should be extremely proud of all his achievements.
Congratulations Year 12 student Maddison Alvino who has been nominated for achieving excellent results academically in both her VCE and VET Fitness studies. As a House Captain, she has gone above and beyond the expectations for organization of McAuley House on the Athletics day as well as her support of both teachers and students. Maddison is an excellent netballer and has played A Grade netball at her local club since she was 16.

NATHAN ARGIRO...ANOTHER WORLD TITLE
Past student Nathan Argiro has featured once again in Sunraysia Daily for his shooting prowess. Nathan has claimed another world title, winning the ISSF World Championship Trap Men Junior gold medal at South Korea’s Changwon International Shooting Centre.
