School Council Student Elections

We are calling for students to nominate themselves to be on School Council. School Council is a meeting place where decisions are made for the college Community. The council is made up of department members, teachers, parents, community members and students. Being on School Council is a perfect opportunity to have a voice within the College community.

Nominations for School Council will be commencing on Wednesday 13th February and will be open for 7 days. Closing Wednesday 20th February. After this date, depending on the number of nominations, a vote will be conducted for the student body to elect their preferred representative.

Nomination forms can be collected from the Front Office, Claire Clancy or Ms. Shaw. There will be a box in reception for all nomination forms.

Any questions please see Ms. Shaw or Claire Clancy.

Thank you.

Peer Support Review

An important part of the transition of our Year 7 students into our College Community is the Peer Support Program. This program consisted of our senior students facilitating a variety of activities and games with the Year 7 students, promoting friendships, communication and problem solving. A number of our Year 10 and 11 students have been regularly visiting the Year 7 classes and have enjoyed getting to know the Year 7 students and watching them grow and develop in their early days of secondary school life. We look forward to many more Peer Support sessions throughout the term.

One Youth Lunchtime Activities

The One Youth Team, from City of Casey and Lynbrook Youth, offer Lyndhurst Secondary College a lot of support with our students, especially through running lunchtime activities that give our students different opportunities. Some of these opportunities include a student’s being able to make connections with other support systems through fun activities.

The first week, last Friday, saw a very competitive 4-square competition. The entire quadrangle was filled, with all 4-square courts occupied with students aiming to stay in for 6 games in a row to earn themselves a prize. The focus of the activity was making friends and allowing an opportunity to meet other students and duel it out on the 4-square court.

We are looking forward to many more lunchtime activities, happening every Friday Lunchtime.
