ACTIVITIES

During the past two weeks, we have endured some hot weather which means we have been able to utilise the Kildare College pool facilities, both in the afternoon and evening.

During the last week of the year, the boarders were able to celebrate Christmas. Our chef, Dave Lugton prepared a Christmas feast, featuring traditional Christmas ham roast for mains and Christmas pudding and custard for dessert.  A special thank you goes out to Linda who made some gingerbread men for everyone. As a boarding family, we enjoyed the meal with friends and supervisors. The students enjoyed dressing up in their Christmas attire. We had students as Santa Claus and even a few elves running around the boarding house. Even the supervisors joined in with their fun Christmas t-shirts. The students were all eager to win the best-dressed contest, with winners, Jacob Gray, Bailey Mcdonald, Tara Cock, and Kaitlynn  Daly, taking away the prize. After the Christmas dinner, there was lots of fun to be had, with the students joining in some activities at the pool.

Wednesday afternoon saw the boarders enjoy some off-site activities with the Juniors going to Lazor Tag and the Seniors going to Ten Pin Bowling - a great time and enjoyed by all.  Seniors then later that night were able to go on the bus and look at the Christmas lights around town with lots of singing and laughing.

Thursday the Boarders had a BBQ dinner by the pool with the boarders being able to swim and play a game of backyard cricket which everyone enjoyed.

I would also like to take this time to wish all the boarding house students and parents a happy and safe Christmas holiday.

I look forward to seeing you all in 2022.
