High Ability Program

At Murrumbeena Primary School, we like to celebrate the achievements and successes of our students. The ability of students at our school is truly remarkable and many students are achieving excellence in different areas.

As a school community, we would like to congratulate the students across Grades 5 and 6 in 2021 who have participated in the Victorian High Ability program.

This week, they received their certificates and again we are very proud of them for representing Murrumbeena Primary School. The program is designed for students who have demonstrated ability in English and Mathematics through their NAPLAN results, and through their performance in these subjects at school.

The program's focus is on extending and developing the children’s abilities in these areas.

Thank you to the parents and carers of the students participating this year, as some of the classes were done during remote learning times.

2022 PROGRAM

Next year, in Term 1, a number of students will have this opportunity and we look forward to them participating in the program. Hoping next year will be a smooth and uninterrupted full program.

We have students excelling academically, working at high speed and using complex thinking skills. Students are also excelling physically displaying wonderful sports skills, with advanced sporting abilities, including dance abilities.

Students at MPS are also excelling in creative ways with flexible thinking and artistic skills. There are also students excelling socially with a high ability to be leaders and to reason with others.

If your child is doing any of the above outside of school, we would love to hear from you next year in 2022. Keep an eye out for a newsletter article early in 2022 asking for details about your child’s special skills and abilities.

Have a nice and safe summer break.
