Boarding News

Mrs. Kathryn Searle - Head of Boarding

Hello from Longreach!

This week I am attending the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) Federal Conference and again am amazed to hear of issues our rural and isolated families encounter, such as internet access and transportation of children to and from school. However, their hospitality and non-complaining attitude are admirable. As this is a federal conference, the major topic of discussion at the conference is the No Borders for Boarders Campaign (current border restrictions) and its impact on families living in a different state to where their children attend school. Everyone is excited about the announcement of borders re-opening.

As we edge closer to our Year 12s leaving us, final plans are in place for their Boarding Farewell Dinner to be held in the Boarding House on Thursday 18 November.

We have another busy weekend of activities for our students as follows:

Friday 5 November

Eat Street

Saturday 6 November

Afternoon Clayfield Pool and Water Activities

Sunday 7 November

Southbank for the day with other Boarding Schools
