Prep News

It has been a busy couple of weeks in Prep! Last Thursday saw the students finally able to celebrate together at the long-awaited disco. There were laughs and smiles galore, as students pulled out their best dance moves with their friends and teachers, including the worm and conga. It was well worth the wait in the end and there were some tired little disco groovers at the conclusion of the afternoon!

This week we also had transition on Tuesday, when the Preps were able to meet their new teacher and classmates for Grade 1. We were so proud of how they settled into the morning and there is no doubt that they cannot wait for next year!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas and holiday break, and we will see you around the school in the new year!

Level 1/2 News

Wow! What a fantastic year it has been in Grade 1/2, 2021.  The busy year has not slowed down as we journey towards the Christmas break.

Students have continued to work hard and enjoyed many fun activities along the way. A great time was had by all at the disco and students have been delight to spend time with new peers, their 2022 class and teacher at transition morning. We had a blast at the 1&2 Fun Night! Check out our Facebook page to see even more photos of the activities and highlights from the Grade 2 sleepover. All students should be congratulated on their resilience during these sessions and judging by the smiles on their faces, 2022 promises to be another wonderful year for our students at RHPS.

In our last newsletter of the year, we would like to thank Mr Pedley for all his hard work teaching 2BP this year. His enthusiasm, sense of humour and dedication to his students has been amazing. We are sad to see him leave RHPS but send him best wishes as he continues his teaching career at MECS next year. Thanks, Mr Pedley!

We would also like to thank all families for their continued support throughout this year. We have loved working with you all and your children. They have been a delight to teach.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and relaxing new year.

Kindest regards,

The Grade 1/2 Team

Ben Pedley, Daena Hailey, Kayla Hartrick, Llinos Poole and Tim Wilson

Level 5/6 News

As the year comes to an end there is certainly no slowing down for grade 5/6. We’ve had an energized few weeks with a bike ride, a disco, leadership handover, transition, bento boxes and class parties just to name a few. There is an excitement in the air and the students have really come together in these past few weeks as a community built on friendship and shared experiences.

As we journey into our final week of school we look forward to our end of year celebrations including a trip to Croydon Cinemas to watch Boss Baby: Family Business. Tuesday is our Grade 6 Graduation – an exciting event for all involved! Costello Video will be filming throughout the day between 11:30-1:30 and again on the night. Students have the option to be picked up at 1:30pm, 3:30pm or to stay after school with the Grade 5/6 staff to be collected after graduation. Graduation will start at 4:30pm and the ceremony will begin at 4:45pm. A pizza dinner, disco and photobooth will be set up for the students only from 5:30pm and graduation will conclude at 7pm. Please see the Compass Newsfeed for further information about attendees and checking in on arrival. If you would like to purchase a USB from Costello Video, please return your order form and payment ASAP. On Wednesday grade 6 students will have the opportunity to move around the school for signing day - another exciting celebration for our graduates. A farewell assembly will be held in the Gym at 2:45pm Wednesday afternoon. Grade 6 families only are invited to attend due to our restrictions.

We are so proud of our grade 5/6 students for all their efforts this year. We look forward to seeing our grade 5s lead the school in 2022 and wish our grade 6s all the best as they transition to high school. We wish you all a happy and healthy break as you head into the Christmas period.
