Message from the Principal Team

Principals' Update

Week 6 has been a wonderful week and we are looking forward to our Book Parade and Foundation Breakfast on Friday. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us but if the rain decides to stay, the children will show off their amazing costumes in their classrooms. Our Bike Education has been excellent, despite the inclement weather, with the children learning lots of new skills. Year 5/6 are looking forward to the Big Bike Ride next Thursday 18th November.

The year 3/4 students are participating in a sports workshop over the next 4 weeks by the Year 10 PE students from Princes Hill Secondary College. This is a great opportunity for our students to have fun and learn some new sports. It is also a fantastic opportunity for the high school students (many are ex-students of ours) to practise their coaching skills.

Many of you have been wondering if there is any update to the Acting Principal position and we are still awaiting news from the Department of Education. Once we get this news we will share it with you on Compass.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Today the whole school came together for an assembly to mark Remembrance Day.  We lowered the flags to half mast at 10.30am. During the ceremony, the children read a number of reflections, we held a minute silence and then raised the flags. It was a wonderfully solemn marking of the occasion.

School Review Parent Feedback Session

In Term 1 2022 Carlton North will have their mandated school review.  As part of this process the school is required to conduct a self-evaluation.  This is an opportunity to reflect on our Strategic Plan goals and targets from the last 4 years. It is also an opportunity for you to share your view on how our school is progressing and what key areas we, as a community, should focus on. Your thoughts and ideas will help the school in identifying key priorities for the next 4 years.

We will be sending out a survey next week so that you can contribute your thoughts.   We would love to have as many of our families complete the survey as possible. We would like to invite parents to come together and to share your opinions about CNPS which will be conducted by our School Review consultant Leslie Tulloch.  This Parent Feedback Session will take place on Tuesday 30th November at 2.30pm – 3.30pm. Onsite venue will be confirmed when we know how many parents will be attending.  Please contact the school if you wish to attend.

Our Outdoor Learning Space

Work has started to put the shade sail up above the outdoor learning space. We will be able to make great use of this area, even on those sunniest of days. While the work continues we would ask that everyone remain outside the barrier.

School Colour Fun Run Fundraiser

We are looking forward to our School Fun Run on Friday 19 November. Currently, we have raised $9,402 of our $10,000 goal. It looks like there will be a colourful Eoghan at the end of the day!

Fete Meeting

We are looking forward to getting our school fete back up and running for next year. There will be a meeting on Thursday 18th November for anyone interested in helping out. Please meet up at the blue stones at 3.30pm. This is a big event and we need as much help as possible.

Thanking you all for your continued support,

Eoghan O’Muirgheasa, Erin Brown & Jane Bilby
