The Buzz is starting to come back

In speaking with teachers and parents from a large number of schools, it would appear that all schools have experienced high levels of fatigue in the return of students to campus learning and yet it is through the fatigue that smiles continue to beam.  Acutely aware of the potential for early burnout, our teachers have been facilitating a smooth and gentle return to school based learning.

I have mentioned on a number of occasions that school buildings are little more than well equipped empty vessels if they are not full of young people wanting to learn, so this week I went around visiting classes just to get a sense of the vibe - it was inspiring to see VCAL classes engaged in a range of building projects designed to further enhance the school facilities - construction of a shed to house outdoor furniture, building and concreting in benches for the yard and the basketball courts or planter boxes to improve the aesthetics of the school entry. And to hear that science lab, product design and food technology assistants are (happily) run off their feet preparing so many practical classes and science experiments  for the students. And to be able to see students grappling with complex math problems together, reading in the library, and of course just being together at lunch.

St. Peter's College is beginning to get its Buzz back and that will be great for everyone. Take a moment to scroll through some photos taken in this past week.
