Murdoch update

Melbourne University Murdoch Incursion

On Monday the 29th of November, the Murdoch classes were greeted by 3 Bachelor of Science students from Melbourne University. They were taught about what it's like at University and how to get certain jobs. The Uni students performed a presentation about their fields of study, which were Zoology, Mathematical Physics, and Anatomy. The Murdoch students participated in 3 different activities about (real) lungs, germs, and skulls. Later, we did a Q&A regarding university and careers. This incursion taught them a lot about science and jobs related to it.

On Monday M83 were involved in the Murdoch Science Incursion. Students from the University of Melbourne visited our school to educate us about the different areas of science they studied. There were exciting activities to try out and learn about. The first station had the skulls of different animals and we had to guess which skull belonged to which animal. The second station we looked at pigs lungs and how they work, it was interesting but a bit gross. The last station we saw the different effects that soap can have on germs. At the end of the lesson we had the chance to ask any questions we had and hear first hand about some of the experiences at University. It was a great session.
