Environmental Council
With the start of Term 4, a new era for the Environmental Council has begun. With the previous Environmental Council members now preparing for their HSC exams, elections were held for their replacements.
It is my pleasure to announce the new members of the Environmental Council Executive. Congratulations to:
- Grace Salkeld (President)
- Annie Kelly (Vice President)
- Jack Knight (Secretary)
- Blake Smith (Treasurer)
- Charlette Lyon (Communications Officer)
All five (pictured above) of the new Executive members have already started to make an impact on the Environmental Council and will take over the excellent efforts from the previous Executive members. The new executive members have already started new projects which will promote environmental awareness in the College.
On behalf of the Environmental Council, I would like to thank the exiting members for all the effort and contributions they have made to the Environmental Council. Each year, the new executive members are asked to make a long-term contribution to the Environmental Council. The previous members had made a positive impact, as they expanded the plantings in the nursery, saw the development of the regeneration site, started to look at practical uses of the shredded paper and began a community partnership with the Tamworth Community Nursery. Thanks goes to Rachel Smith, Clementine Monet, Caitlin Downey, Georgia Robertson and Marianne Flood. Their leadership and enthusiasm is appreciated, and they will be missed.
The Environmental Council meets every Thursday, second break. I welcome anyone who would like to make a difference to the Environment and the College. The new leadership team has big ideas and I open the invitation to come and join them.
I look forward to seeing what changes and new projects that the new executive will bring to the Environmental Council. Good Luck to them.
