Marg Jowitt
Marg Jowitt

Our Year 10's with Ms Jowitt are working on a VCE-styled extended investigation this term.  Students have chosen some pretty fascinating topics to explore, such as:

  • Jimi Hendrix as a cultural and music icon.
  • How North Korea became a dictatorship in the 1950s.
  • Queen Elizabeth II: figurehead or political leader?
  • The connections between space exploration and the cold war in the 1960s.
  • How participation in the workforce in WWII galvanised the feminist movement in Australia.
  • Muhammad Ali: from sporting legend to civil rights leader.
  • The significance of the leadership of Nelson Mandela in the anti-Apartheid movement.
  • Was Marilyn Monroe a  feminist?
  • The importance of the ideas expressed in Martin Luther King Jnr's speech "I had a dream" in influencing civil rights globally.
