Principal's Report
CLASSES FOR 2023
We are currently planning for 2023 class configurations. Class configurations are dependent on the numbers of students enrolled in each year level.
Families have received forms to complete and return to notify us if your children will be returning in 2023.
We are also taking enrolments for Reception classes for 2023. If you know of anyone who will be school age next year and is considering HPS for their child’s education – please ask them to contact the school as places are filling quickly.
PRINCIPAL TOUR
A tour of the school will be available for prospective families for 2023 on:
Wednesday 21st September from 9:00am -9:30am.
CELEBRATION NIGHT
Governing Council and staff have made the decision to hold our traditional school CELEBRATION NIGHT again this year.
The evening will be held in week 9 term 4 (date to be confirmed) and includes each class performing an item for your entertainment.
We will have some stalls and a raffle. This is our major fundraiser for the year.
We invite all families and friends to join us for a fun evening celebrating the end of another great year of learning at HPS.
PAT TESTING
Students from year 2-6 will undertake statewide assessments in reading comprehension and maths next week.
Our teachers will analyse the results of these assessments and this will guide us in identifying improvement goals and targets for teaching and learning in 2023.
BUILDING UPDATE
New furniture has been ordered for the new administration wing.
The wing will house:
- Admin offices and entry foyer
- First Aid room
- Therapy room (for OT, Speech)
- Interoception room
- Staff room
- Flexible learning space
- Meeting room
The Art Room will be reinstated as will all of the landscaping around the new wing.
The STEM learning space will regain the two breakout spaces (currently used for Interoception and meeting room) so students will once again have access to green screen technology and have mode space for the Lego League (robotics).
