Unplugged at Endeavour

On Wednesday 22 May, Endeavour College hosted 'Unplugged' - a parent workshop to provide information on problematic gaming and determine practical strategies to support healthier gaming and internet use in the home. Offered free to our community, this event was presented by Uniting Care Wesley Bowden (UCWB) and Psychology SA, in partnership with GameQuitters and CGI Clinic.

This is a topic that resonated with the broader Endeavour community, with more than 80 parents attending to hear the results of recent and relevant research. The evening was run by presenters Haidee Baker, a registered psychologist and teacher from Psychology SA, and Tina Binder, a Senior Practitioner in the Child and Family Services program at UCWB. Both Haidee and Tina recognised that gaming can be a safe and healthy activity for children and young people, however they also identified the warning signs of problematic gaming and provided valuable insights and strategies on how to manage problematic gaming and internet habits, build positive new habits and help children detox and recover.

For those who were unable to attend this informative session, please visit UCWB  to find out when and where the next workshop will be held.

Art Excursion - Cool Krush Gallery

Adelaide is on the world map as being among the  best street art cities. Our Year 10 Art Class were lucky enough to visit Cold Krush Gallery to experience first-hand the edgy and contemporary art mediums used in eye catching street-art including stenciling, murals, paste-ups, sticker art and yarn bombing.  Our students were able to express their individual styles and by the looks of things, the future of street art in Adelaide is in good hands.
