From Bree's desk.....

What another busy and productive week at Croydon Hills Primary School!  Thank you to all the parents who made time to meet with their child’s classroom teacher for a ‘Getting to Know You’ meeting last week.  This is a great opportunity for teachers to learn more about the children in their classroom and how best to support them.  We greatly value the home-school partnership and encourage parents to contact their child’s teacher with any questions or concerns at any time throughout the year.

Year 6 Camp - Ballarat

This week, our Year 6 students are having a fantastic time at their camp in Ballarat.  What a wonderful opportunity to build independence, develop positive social relationships, try new things and learn about life in the past.  Here is just a small snapshot of what they have been up to…

Highlighting Student Work

Visual Arts

2023 Chinese Lunar New Year is a Year of the Rabbit.  Over the past few weeks in art, our Senior students have been creating these amazing ‘steampunk rabbits’.  The Year 5 students were adding final touches this week.  We are so lucky to have such a wonderful Visual Arts program at CHPS!

Reading in the Juniors

Our Year 1 students have been hard at work developing their ability to apply their letter-sound knowledge to read (decode) new words.  It has been great to see Year 2 students further building their independent reading skills.  They are applying strategies such as “checking for understanding” and rereading to support their comprehension of the text.  It has been lovely to see all students so engaged in their literacy learning.
