Empathy, Compassion and Making A Difference

At CHPS we aim to foster empathy and compassion in our students and, every once in a while we find a student who has not only taken this to heart, but has gone the extra mile to really make a difference.

Year 6 student, Charlie from SKF, is a man on a mission.  At Assembly on Friday March 17th, Charlie will be shorn as part of The World's Greatest Shave to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.  In his own words:

"Why I'm taking part:  Ever since I was in grade one, I've wanted to do the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave because the principal at my old school shaved his head along with some of the students. I have been growing my hair since the beginning of 2020 and it has finally come time to cut it off to help people who have been diagnosed with leukaemia. As well as fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave, I am donating my hair to Sustainable Salons so they can make a wig for someone undergoing cancer treatment. My goal is to raise $1,000 for the Leukaemia foundation and you can help me with this by donating. Big or small, every donation counts! Thank you for reading my page. I hope that you can help me to reach my fundraising goal."
