MATHS AND COMPUTING 

I would firstly like to say that our Computing teachers, Kumie and Mel ably supported by William, are our own resident computing geniuses. They make all of our problems disappear in seconds. It is inspiring to watch them work and a relief that we have such valuable support available to us.

That now brings me to the Mathematics teachers here at Wyndham College. Every day they bring the joy of mathematics to our students. 

On 14 March 2023 we celebrated Pi Day – the International Day of Mathematics. I cannot think of a better day to celebrate! The reason for calling this day Pi Day relates to pi, as a decimal to two places, rounds to 3.14. – similar to the way the date can be expressed. Thus, March 14.

I would like to congratulate all women for their wonderful International Women’s Day that was recently celebrated on the 12 March. Mathematicians also celebrate the achievements of women with International Women in Mathematics Day on the 12 May.
