Wellbeing Update

We saw this term begin with a “Strong Start”! After speaking to our students last year, they told us that it was really important they had time at the start of the year to make connections with each other and their teachers. This led to the creation of “Strong Start”. Our focus was creating activities where the Year 11 students could get to know a wider range of students, meet their teachers and get to know the Year 12 students. It was fantastic to see our Year 12 students step up and lead activities for the new Year 11’s, and to see the relationships made over the 3 days.

The Wellbeing Team are looking forward to a happy and successful 2023. Our team is a large, diverse group of staff ensuring students are provided with support for their mental health and wellbeing. Our team consists of:

The College also has a student from Western Sydney University doing their Social Work placement with us for Terms 1 & 2. Tayla is supporting our students and staff in ensuring we provide every opportunity for our students to thrive.

Health Issues

Year 11 students with serious health conditions have been provided with paperwork (or will be very soon) that must be completed and returned as a matter of urgency. It is essential that staff and students are appropriately prepared for these medical conditions and for students bring their correct medications each day. The include EpiPens and blood glucose testing kits.

All asthmatic students should bring in their asthma plan and give to the College Office. It is essential for students to bring their puffers with them, each day, to ensure easy access to this important medication.

Year 12 students updated their plans last term. If changes need to be made, please contact the relevant Year Adviser.

Student Assistance

If financial difficulties are creating pressure in terms of school uniform and paying course fees, a Student Assistance form can be collected from either the Colleg ffice or Year Advisers. Please contact a member of our team if you have concerns.
