Clean Up Australia Schools Clean Up Day

Friday 3 March was Schools Clean Up Day.

EHPS participated in this day and together we cleaned our school! See the photos below of the great work the Preps did participating in Schools Clean Up Day - well done!

Thank you to all the students and teachers who helped make our school look beautiful. Schools Clean Up Day gives us a lovely looking school, but it also keeps rubbish out of our water ways and protects the animals in our environment. Picking up rubbish and keeping our school clean is a good way to remember not to litter. One of the most common items collected was food wrappers. Please consider how you send food to school, is decanting chips into a re-usable container viable for your household? Reducing the disposable packaging that comes to school will result in a cleaner school. Lets keep our school beautiful and our environment safe and beautiful too!

Earth Hour is coming!

This year we are encouraging families to participate in Earth Hour on Saturday 25 March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Earth Hour is a world wide event where people turn off their lights for an hour. It is to raise awareness and discussion of how we can live more sustainably and to reflect on the incredible benefits nature provides us.

We encourage families to send in pictures of what you did during Earth Hour.  Dinner by candlelight, treasure hunt by moonlight, or playing games with family/friends. We’d love to see how you spend time without electric lights.  Please send pictures to Yogini.Patel@education.vic.gov.au
