Marqt
On Sunday 2 April we will host our annual Children's Marqt & Fair on our school grounds. It will be our 3rd marqt and it is great to see the number of visitors growing each year.
What to expect?
A Children's Flea Marqt- This is a children's market. We invite all our students and budding entrepreneurs to sell their old toys(in good condition), craft, new items or show their creativity and busk.
Becky Bubble- Our main entertainment this year is Becky. She makes giant bubbles and will teach the children how to make their own. It will be great!
Games- Back by popular demand we have giant Jenga and the can throwing game. We have also added more games this year: ring toss, giant Mikado, Finska and...if all goes well, our GaGa Pit will arrive in time. Ask your child about it, they love this game!
The Easter Egg hunt- Takes place on our playground. The Easter Bunny will of course pay us a visit and will happily be in a photo with your child.
Bike repair: if your bike needs to be repaired, please bring it in. We have a team of experts ready to help.
There will be so much else to enjoy like buskers, the free fruit stall, fairy floss, snow cones, Dutch pancakes and great coffee !
Spread the word - everybody is welcome!
If your child or you would like to participate in the flea market or if you can assist by volunteering at a Marqt stall, please let us know : marketing@scelwood.catholic.edu.au

Dear parents,
We are very excited to launch The Resilience Project (TRP) to our wider school community!
The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, providing practical, evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness.
Through presentations, school curriculum, events, the TRP App, and Wellbeing Journals, children learn about the benefits of Gratitude, Empathy & Mindfulness, and easy ways to practise these in everyday life. The program also incorporates Emotional Literacy, Connection and Physical Health education and activities as they are foundational contributors to positive mental health.
Across the school P-6, our children have already begun their TRP journey. You may have already heard them talking about 'being grateful', which is the first part of the program.
To make the most of The Resilience Project, and to support your child you are invited to participate in the journey by accessing the dedicated Inspire Parent and Carer Hub which can be accessed at any time via a secure link, no login required. This hub hosts all the parent Inspire videos, that will introduce you to the program and GEM principles. As well as links to research and additional resources and wellbeing activities for families to try.
Please read the attached letter which explains the program and the resources. Over the course of term 2, we will share via Seesaw 5 activities/videos and resources.
The videos are 5-10 minutes long and will walk through the key pillars of resilience: Gratitude, Empathy & Mindfulness. You’ll hear stories and be introduced to activities to show how these strategies can support our children’s' learning and development and support you as parents and carers.
