Photo Catch Up:

Friday’s lunchtime Art Club has entered a Mural Competition through Keep NZ Beautiful and Resene. 🙌 We have been selected into the top 15 finalists, from which ten winners will be chosen. 25% of the final score is based on public voting. So we need as many votes as we can! Please, please take a few minutes to vote for us. Voting closes on April 6.

If we win, we will be supplied with equipment and materials, etc., to paint a giant version of it in the school. Our entry was put together very quickly, so the image isn’t as polished as what the final product will look like, but Natchath and Cici did an incredible last-minute job of drawing up the design we came up with together.

Western Heights School, Auckland - Kaitiaki

Our school’s focus this year and going forward is based on the Maori whakatauki “Toitu te marae a Tane, Toitu te marae a Tangaroa, Toitu te iwi’ If the land is well and the sea is well, the people will thrive. Having a large mural on display will serve as a visual reminder to our school community of the responsibility we have to protect and nurture our earth.
