Principal's Report

The walk towards Easter is certainly prevalent, with various conversations starting about holidays and holiday plans. With only a few weeks to go, it’s a good time to remind students about completing their various tasks for learning and assessment. Our parent/teacher student interviews will take place in the last week of term and I look forward to seeing and meeting our families. For some students these conversations are an opportunity to reset and re focus and for others they are about acknowledging the many achievements that have already been experienced.

This week I was fortunate enough to attend the Year 12 Retreat in Ovens. Our Year 12 students had a great time as did the staff. It is always refreshing to talk with students outside the traditional classrooms, when they are relaxed and comfortable. The game around the fit pit was a good laugh and the rendition of our school song was excellent and uplifting. I thank the staff who attended and for the planning and preparation they did to arrange for such a great experience for our Year 12 students.

Our Kildare Campus is still on track for our Year 7 students to be onsite in Term 2.  At this stage we are looking at a date in May but this is all dependent on the timing of permits. More detail and information about this will be shared as soon as possible.

Term One has provided many opportunities for us to gather together as One College and it is on these occasions that our students and staff improve connections and develop a real sense of community spirit; something we will actively aim to maintain as we move to a College with two campuses. Today is another of those occasions and I am really looking forward to our Foundation Day celebrations.

God Bless.
