Year 7 is currently reading and studying “Look Both Ways” by Jason Reynolds. Jason Reynolds conjures ten tales (one per block) about what happens after the dismissal bell rings, and brilliantly weaves them into one wickedly funny, piercingly poignant look at the detours we face on the walk home, and in life.
Year 8 students are currently choosing novels from a selected collection. An example of some of these titles are:
Year 9 students are studying Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Year 10 students are studying Shakespeare's Macbeth for English They are also reading a novel of their choice.
Students can access a variety of e books, audio books, magazines and graphic novels through SORA. Digital books are automatically returned on their due dates. Students have access to SORA on their laptop and it can easily be set up on their personal device.
Senior Students have access to Box of Books which is a platform for our digital texts. Students also have access to ATOMI for some subjects and it is used for revision, classwork and homework.

NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
This year the College is participating in the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. The challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students and to enable them to experience quality literature.
It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, or to read more and to read more widely. This is open for students from Year 7-10 at the College.
Entries to this challenge close on Friday 18 August. Students are challenged to read 20 books, with 10 from the Premiers Reading Challenge list and 10 personal choice books.
