WATER SAFETY PROGRAM - F - Yr 6

WEDNESDAY 22ND MARCH, 2023
Albany Rise received a grant from the Victorian Government to support our students participating in the Monash Sport School Learn to Swim and Water Safety Program at Monash Aquatic Centre, Waverley Rd, Glen Waverley on Wednesday the 22nd of March. Each year level will participate in a 60-minute programmed session specifically for water safety activities. Session times include:
- 9:30am to 10:30am (Yr. 5/6).
- 10:30am to 11:30am (Yr. 3/4)
- 1:30pm to 2:30pm (Foundation to Yr.2)
The children will be transported to Monash Aquatic Centre by charter buses approximately 25 minutes before and arrive 30 minutes after their session. Students will need to bring bathers, a swimming cap (if preferred), goggles, a towel, school hat and a plastic bag for wet bathers. If students are wearing bathers to school, please remember to pack underwear to wear after swimming. Please pack a regular snack, lunch and drink bottle. This day will provide significant assistance to your child’s learning about being safe in and around water in a fun and engaging way. Please ensure you have filled out the ‘Swimming Experience Questionnaire 2023’ that was handed out last week. This will allow Monash Sport to group our students into the appropriate group to ensure each child is being challenged and supported adequately. We are also in need of parent assistance with classes to assist with adult to student ratios on the bus, as well as assist with changing (younger classes). Please see your child’s teacher if you can offer support. All parent helpers MUST have a current ‘Working with Children’ certificate.
