A Deputy on the Move! 

Current Deputy Principal of St Virgil’s College, Heidi Senior has been appointed  Director of Learning in the EREA Liberating Education Team.  Heidi will remain at St Virgil’s for the first five weeks of Term I to assist with the transition of new College Principal Mr Jon Franzin.  

Heidi, the daughter of former student and past SVC teacher Robert Gregg, attended St Mary’s College.  She has degrees in Science and Education, a Master of Educational Leadership and a Graduate Certificate of Religious Education.

In 2000 after having spent the two previous years as a teacher on Kiribati with Australian Volunteers International, Heidi commenced a fifteen year period on staff at Austins Ferry – the last four of which he held the position of Director of Teaching and Learning.  For the ensuing three years she held a similar position at Guilford Young College, before moving to the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office as Manager: Curriculum & Pedagogy for two and a half years.

At the beginning 2020, Heidi returned to St Virgil’s as its Deputy Principal, and during the latter part of 2021 was Acting Principal.

Heidi has made an outstanding contribution to the College and its students over her seventeen year association with it.  The Old Virgilians Association acknowledges this and its best wishes go with her.
