School Council Nominations Welcome

The forthcoming March Annual General Meeting of the Miners Rest Primary School welcomes nominations for new parent or community members.

We have positions vacant, please forward inquiries to myself via our school office or drop in and collect a nomination form.

Nominations are due Wednesday, 2 March, by close of business.

Should a ballot be required ie more nominations than vacancies, I will keep the school community posted.

Curriculum Day

This coming Monday, 21 February is an "Inclusion & Engagement" curriculum day.  Staff will be furthering their knowledge, understanding and consistency in delivering our this part of the curriculum, both in classrooms and in the school yard.

From a family perspective, please enjoy / encourage a sleep in and have a great day with your child/ren.

If required, our OSHC program is available to access.  Please contact our school office for further information.

COVID update

We have a number of cases prevalent currently within our community.  Families are isolating both as close contacts and positive cases, and we acknowledge how difficult that is but also how important.

Thank you for looking outwardly in keeping as many of our community safe as possible.

Please continue to correspond positive or close contact cases to me via dale.power@education.vic.gov.au, particularly citing date of inception, name/s of students and their rooms.

Please note, it is not a requirement for teachers/school to provide work for students in this situation, as a directive from DET.  However, please feel free to touch base with classroom teachers should you require login details for online platforms utilised for educational purposes at school.  In this regard, we can support some school related activity.

Again, thank you, and keep up the great vigilance and work.

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
