2023 Scholarship Applications Closing Soon
Online applications for Merit and Boarding Scholarships for entry into Years 7 and 11 in 2023 are now open. We are also seeking applications for music scholarships from students for Years 7 to 11 for 2023. More information on these scholarships can be found on the Scholarships & Bursaries page of the website.
Scholarship applications are submitted online and there is no cost to apply. Applications must be completed and submitted by 9am on Monday 28 February 2022.

Year 5 to 8 Musical in May 2022 Postponed
We are excited to announce that we do have a Y5-8 Musical planned for this year. As many of our students and families would be aware, we were very sad to see our Aladdin Junior production cancelled in 2019 due to the pandemic. At this stage, our next Y5-8 project has been planned, with a show selected and a team of staff ready to get started. We will make a decision about how we proceed at the end of this term once the current COVID-19 situation is better understood, with the hope that we can reschedule the project for later this year. Thank you for the support and interest in the Y5-8 Musical.

School Canteen Ordering
The online portal for school canteen orders is via FlexiSchools (search for "Friends" on the home page). Please note that you will need to update your students' Year Level/Class each year to ensure that orders are placed correctly.
Vocal and Instrumental Tuition - 2022
Lessons will commence next week. Tutors will be in touch with students and/or families to provide further details.
For those who are yet to request lessons for this year, the application form may be found at the end of these guidelines.
FriendsMusic Meeting - Tuesday 22 February
The first meeting of FriendsMusic was scheduled for Tuesday 22 February. However, we have decided to delay the meeting until later this term.
We look forward to welcoming new and existing members to this parent-support group. For more information, please contact Music Admin.
Quaker Meetings for Worship
All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.
Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.
THERE WILL BE NO CHILDREN'S MEETING IN FEBRUARY 2022.

Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship
Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.45am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Clemes office on Boa Vista Road.
Community Yoga
All members of the school community are welcome to participate in Community Yoga each Wednesday from 7.45 - 8.15am, during term time. We meet in the Farrall Centre. Come and enliven your body, calm your mind and set yourself up for a positive week ahead.
