Staff Profile

I have been at Scoresby Secondary College for just over a month, and it already feels like the school for me! Last year I taught VCE Media Year 11 and 12, so this year is even better as I have added Media Year 9 and Year 10. I also have great satisfaction in teaching VCAL - Personal Development Skills.

I am passionate about supporting young people in having a voice that is creative and community minded.

I taught part-time last year as I pursued my other love: working in the creative arts industry. I was a screen writer, directed short films with young people at St. Martin's Youth Arts Centre, and for the Malthouse Theatre, I performed the murderous Queen in Hamlet. Usually, the character who tyrannized Hamlet is played by a man, but it was changed to a woman. Lucky me!

Lucky also to now be working at Scoresby Secondary College as I am encouraged to continue my connection to the creative industries. This will significantly benefit the students as I am excited to bring the real world of filmmaking and storytelling into the classroom. I also get to bring my producing background to VCAL. Every story told and production made needs a plan and hard work, and I will do everything to help the students reach their goals.

I am also a Mum to two amazing girls, a 12-year-old who started high school this year and a 15-year-old in Year 10.
