Athletics Day

Last week the college held its annual House Athletics Carnival at the Knox Athletics Track, where all students in attendance had the chance to compete for the ultimate glory of taking home the House Cup for 2022.

Bradman (Blue), Chisolm (Red), Sutherland (Green) and Dunlop (Yellow) were well represented, and our Year 12 cohort made the most of their very last Carnival with the ever-popular Year 12 Dress Up Parade to close out the day. Part of the parade were our very own Mystery Inc. and Italian Plumber Bros amongst many others!

The event overall was a huge success with attendance levels high and the weather in our favour as well as involvement from staff members, parent visitors and members of the local community.

The students had ample opportunity to put their skills and fitness to the test against their peers from other houses and they certainly did not disappoint, as the final points tally for the 2022 House Carnival being the closest finish in a decade! 355 points separated 1st and 4th place, with a mere 29 points splitting 1st and 2nd.

In the end, it was Bradman that took out the converted holy grail with an overwhelming number of competitors on the day across all events. The college would like to congratulate Bradman for a stellar effort in winning the Carnival as well as all students who attended and participated, winning points for their house and representing the college with pride.

We are already looking forward to our next House Athletics Carnival in 2023 where again a definitive house will be crowned Champions of the School and etch their name in the history of Scoresby Secondary College for eternity.

Special thanks to all staff members for their help on the day as well as all other members of the College for their ongoing and unwavering support in putting together the Carnival, as well as the Knox Athletics Track for allowing us to run our event at their facility once again.
