THANKS TO THE ACE FOUNDATION

The teachers and students in FA, FB and FC would like to thank the ACE Foundation for giving every Foundation student a beautiful story book to celebrate starting school. One of the titles this year was "The Magic Beach" by Alison Lester. Our students loved their books as you can see from these photos of Lachlan and Quinn reading with their Year 6 Buddies Cohen and Marlee.

Welcome to our Foundation Students.

It’s been a very busy few weeks at school for all our new Foundation students. They have been settling into a new environment with lots of new friends to get to know as well as becoming familiar with school expectations and routines. One of our main goals during the early weeks of school is to learn about the school values (The 5 Ps - Positivity,  Persistence, Pride, Passion and Purpose) which we are having lots of fun with. We have also been learning about patterns and developing number sense in Maths. In Literacy, we have been learning about letters and sounds and enjoying storytimes. 

New Home Learning Apps Coming Soon!

CSPS will be moving to a new way of recording home reading using Kluwell’s My Home Reading app. The My Home Reading app is easy for parents and students to nurture a lifelong love of reading. This iconic Home Reading Journal is now an app that operates on any device. This app tracks each student’s progress, with a simple system that summarises your childs reading progress, allows teachers to send messages to their students and eliminates the ‘lost journal’ problem! All available without a single download.

Maths Invaders is another Home Learning App that will be coming for students to practice fluency in mental mathematics. Children learn best when they are having fun. The fast and furious Maths Invaders Online game engages and motivates students to master mental maths.

• Carefully sequenced to build mental maths ability step-by-step
• Little by little as skills increase the maths gets harder
• The children are having so much fun they don't even realise they are learning.
