Attendance Matters

Welcome back from the attendance team

As we settle into the 2022 school year we would like to welcome all our new and current families back.

We would like to thank our families for supporting our attendance marking procedures and keeping us informed when students are unable to attend school.

Please keep yourself up to date with all things attendance by reading the information shared on this page.

If you have any questions at all regarding attendance please do not hesitate to email cranbourne.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au or call the office on 9782 2999.

Absence Notifications @ CSPS

We would like to remind our families of the procedure when a child is absent from school.

All student absences MUST be entered via Compass.  Phone calls and emails are not the preferred method of student absence notification.  If you email or call the school to report an absence, you will be requested to make an absence entry via Compass.

Please view the below flowcharts to help you understand the process:

Same Day Absences - Eg; you decide on the day that your child is unable to attend school.

Known Absences - Eg; you know ahead of time that your child will be unable to attend school on a certain day/s

When lodging an absence via Compass please confirm the date/s of absence.  You do not need to adjust the time frame of an absence note.

Office/teaching staff WILL NOT assume the continuation of an absence reason.

Unexplained absences will result in an automated text sent at 10am & 2:15pm.  Parents are asked to please respond to this text by lodging an absence on Compass or email the school if they feel the text may be incorrect.

Further information regarding student attendance can be found at - Attending and Missing School via vic.gov.au website.

Late arrival/Early collection Notifications @ CSPS - Please read

As the second week of Term 1 begins, we would like to remind our families of the procedure for late arrivals and early collections.

All late arrivals and early collections MUST be communicated through the Office.

Parents are NOT required to enter late arrivals or early departures on Compass.

Please view the below flowchart to help you understand the process:

Late arrival & Early collection

Once you are in Kiss and Go, please call the office to report a late arrival.  This will ensure the class roll is updated and the student receives a late pass.

We can not guarantee that a student who arrives late to the classroom without a late pass will be adjusted in the morning roll.  If a late arrival is not adjusted on the class roll this will result in an automated attendance text.  Please email cranbourne.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au if you receive an incorrect attendance text.

If a student is required to be collected early we ask that parents email cranbourne.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au no later than 10am on the required day (this can also be organised further in advance).  Please ensure the student name and class is included in the email.

Our preferred early collection times are:

Break #1

10:40am or 11:25 am

OR

Break #2

1:00pm or 1:50pm.

We request that students are collected at one of these times to minimise interruption to teaching and learning in the classroom.

Please call the office once you are in Kiss & Go and we will have your child brought out to you.
