Principal's News

Carmel Stutterd

Dear families,

I cannot believe this is the last newsletter of the year.

What a very challenging week and month it has been for the whole school community. I am greatly aware that the cases at St Louis have had a huge impact on our whole community,

and our families. It has been so difficult for myself and the staff as well, but I am so thankful for the large numbers of beautiful emails I have received from so many parents. You have helped the staff and myself through this madness.

We are still dealing with daily positive covid cases and trying to manage our way through  the challenges each case presents.

I surveyed the parent community today to gauge the number of parents who still feeling confident enough to send their children back onsite on Tuesday. This will help me to make a decision as to what the last day and half will look like. Thank you for your responses.

For 2022 I will be sending out information to remind the community of the protocols around covid safety and the expectations you can expect from us and the expectations we will have of you, so we can all start the year in a positive way.

Confirmation

Congratulations to our Grade 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Once again a huge thank you to Father Andrew for celebrating such a beautiful liturgy. Thank you to Mrs Douglas and the Grade 6 teachers for all their work in preparing for the students to receive this sacrament.

These staff members have contributed so much to St Louis in the time they have been at the school.I am very grateful for the time I have spent with these staff members and am richer for the experience.

New staff for 2022

I would like to welcome

Mrs Jo Marshall to prep.

Mrs Kate O'Brien to Gr 6

Mr George Lithotomos to Gr 2

Mr Henry Mutimer to PE.

I know they come with great experience and wisdom and will add to the wonderful staff at St Louis.

Orientation 2022

On Monday 13th December you will receive an email informing you who your child’s teacher(s) is for 2022 and the room they will be in.  It will also include a class list.

Your child will also be able to watch a short welcome video from their 2022 teacher(s).

We understand that this is not our ideal way of running our Orientation, however, due to Remote and Flexible Learning in place on Monday this decision has needed to be made.

We appreciate your continued support during this difficult time.

Have a very Merry Christmas  and a Happy New Year.

I look forward to seeing you all in 2022

regards
