ICAN Mentoring Program 2022

The I CAN Network is Australia’s first social enterprise founded by people with Autism. I CAN run a mentoring program to empower people on the Spectrum to have an ‘I CAN’ attitude and inspire their peers with the ‘awe’ in Awetism.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for students who would like to participate in a mentoring program at school in Term 2. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the Awetism Expo, which is always a fantastic event to be involved in. It’s an 8 week program where students attend 1 x 1 hour session each week, on a Thursday (Period 2).

Our mentors/facilitators have lived experience with ASD and have all the appropriate youth safety checks. Student's don't need a diagnosis, and don't have to even identify as autistic, but the focus is on autistic pride, acceptance, celebration etc. Outcomes for previous program participants include increase in self-acceptance, social connection, optimism and self-confidence.

If you think your child would be interested in participating in this program, or would like to hear more information, please contact Julia Kefford (PSD Administrator).
