Week 8 Junior Sport Update

The Junior School sports photos will take place on Wednesday 14 September (Week 9) in the College Hall. These photos are for both the Summer and Winter seasons. The timetable of photos will be placed in each classroom once finalised and boys will be asked to note the time for their photos in their diaries. Please be aware that all photos will be taken during school hours.

Boys are asked to please ensure that they have all the correct playing gear for their photos, especially socks which seem to be one item that often gets left behind. Boys will come to school in their Supporter’s uniform consisting of the black polo, black shorts, white socks and runners. The College tracksuit should be worn if it is cold. Boys are to bring all their playing uniforms required for the photos in their sports bag. There is no need for mouthguards, headgear, or shin pads. All Winter sport teams will need to have clean/polished boots for their photos and squads will have their photos in their College tracksuit pants and black Supporter’s shirt. There are no ‘spare’ items of uniform available on the day. If a student is missing an item of their playing uniform, they will not be able to be in the team photo. Information on how to order photos online will be made available in future issues of the Especean.

Boys who played AFL this year are asked to return their guernsey after their photo has been taken. Boys in Basketball teams will need to retain their singlet for the upcoming term of Summer sport.

There is an opportunity for any boy in the Junior School that competes in gymnastics outside the College to attend the IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival. Nominations close on Friday 9 September, so boys who are interested must see me on Thursday. In order for boys to be eligible, they must be currently training and competing in the MG level structures of gymnastics. The competition is usually held at Rooty Hill and will be held on Thursday 27 October. It will be the responsibility of parents/carers to get their son to and from the venue on the day.

I look forward to seeing all the boys sitting for their team and squad photos next week.
