BOOK WEEK

St Paul will be celebrating Book Week in Week 4 this term, with our Book Week Costume Parade on Friday of Week 4 (19/8). This year’s theme is ‘Dreaming with eyes open..’ A huge thank you to Wendy McLeod our school librarian who is coordinating Book Week celebrations. Each year, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. Although Book Week will look a little different this year, Wendy is planning to make sure that children did not miss out on any of the fun.

Join us on our Facebook livestream for the Book Week Costume Parade. We will also allow limited numbers of parents to attend in the hall.

Bookings can be made using the link below. Every assembly begins at 9:00am, but to access a livestream you must be a member of our private Facebook Group. Don’t miss out!

SCREEN TIME DURING COVID

Optometrists around the world are currently diagnosing higher numbers of children with short-sightedness since the start of the pandemic. This is due to increases in time spent at home, less time doing regular outdoor activities and more time in front of iPads and phones etc. The more time children spend on screens, the greater the risk of myopia. The College of Optometrists in the United Kingdom is calling for children to be outside for two hours each day to minimise screen time and assist with the development of healthy eye-sight. Food for thought for all families.
