Principal's message

Dear MGSC community

We are four weeks into Term 3 and there has been quite a bit happening at MGSC.  The rehearsals for the Addams Family musical are now happening almost daily and there is a lot of excitement in the air.  This will be the first time in a few years that we have been able to hold such an event.

The Strategic Review proccess continues.  As part of this review, the Reviewer, School Council President and two Challenge Partners meet with a range of student, staff and parent forums to gather feedback on our practice, achievements and goals for the future.  The final day of the Review takes place next Monday.  On this day we will assess and analyse all of the data and set our goals for the next four years.  I thank all of those students, staff and parents who have been involved.

Yesterday was the final day for students who will be in Years 9 to 12 next year to select their subjects for 2023.  At MGSC we use the students selections to determine which electives and subjects will run which in turn influences the staffing needs for the following year.

In the world of sport: Senior Netball, Senior Australian Rules and Junior Australian Rules are all through to State level finals. This is a wonderful experience for our students, especially for the seniors as all interschool sport very disrupted for last two years. Thank you to their coaches and support staff that has made this possible. Our Aerobics teams are preparing for Gold Coast as well.

MGSC is a very vibrant place to be at the moment.

Best wishes

Linda Brown
