EISM Competition in full swing with all year levels competing

It is great to see all our students involved in competition this term. With the restructuring of the EISM there are more team sports to choose from which means all students can get involved to represent Oxley in a sport. Some sports are more popular which lead to some teams with too many subs and some sports such as footy struggling to make numbers.

Our Year 7 to 9 students started with a new term of sports and that will change again in Term 4. Seniors (Year 10 to 12) are almost finished with their Winter Season with the conference Grand Finals on Wednesday 17 August and the Division Grand Finals on Wednesday 24 August. The two teams on top of the ladder now are our Senior Girls and Senior Boys Netball teams. We wish them, and our other teams, all the best for the rest of the season.

The EISM Inter School Cross Country Competition is being held on Wednesday 31 August at Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster East. Students who are selected to represent Oxley on that day have been notified via a letter that must be signed by parents or homestay parents and returned to Mr Kotzé by Friday 12 August.

Oxley is very competitive in Cross Country so we like to see selected students attend at least one of the two training sessions every week leading up to the event. Students have half an hour training during lunch on Tuesdays. They meet in the Stadium at the start of lunch, and they can also attend Running Group on Thursday afternoons, meeting in the Stadium at 3.45pm till 4.30pm. Getting fit and ready for Cross Country will also improve performance in your chosen sport. I look forward to seeing students at training!
