ICAS Science Competition 2022

ICAS Science Assessments are online assessments, designed to recognise and reward academic excellence. The competition is based on the Science curriculum for each child’s relevant year level. Students are asked to demonstrate a deeper, integrated, and thorough level of knowledge.

ICAS Science Assessments:

  • Provide objective ranking of performance
  • Encourage students to attain greater academic success
  • Require students to think beyond the classroom
  • Recognise student success through medals and certificates (all students receive a certificate of results)

The paper covers the following scientific skills:

  • Observing and measuring – noting and measuring features of items and phenomena
  • Interpreting data – interpreting diagrams, tables and graphs
  • Applying data – including inferring, predicting and concluding
  • Investigating – experimental design, use of controls and notion of ‘fair test’
  • Higher-order skills – including reasoning and problem-solving

To register for this competition, please complete the registration form here – link is also placed on SEQTA Notices. This competition is FREE for your child/children and is paid for by the Science Faculty.
