Learning Power Award Recipients
Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PrepN | Reyansh | For being a creative learner who finds the numbers in every learning task. Rey’s love of learning spontaneously leads the whole class into discussion and learning about the maths all around us everyday. |
1/2C | Darren | For being a reflective learner who takes on teacher feedback to improve his Writing. Darren has convinced his audience to agree with his opinions in persuasive writing through using strong opening statements with positive adjectives and through backing up his reasons with evidence. Well done Darren! |
1/2S | Rajneel | For being a motivated learner who tried his best during mathematics this week when making connections between addition and subtraction. He listened to teacher feedback and limited distractions around him. |
1/2L | Taeysha | For being a resilient learner who has demonstrated growth in her ability to bounce back when faced with challenges in her learning. It has been wonderful to see you also showing so much confidence in the classroom during learning time. Keep up the great effort Taeysha! |
3/4SL | Kara | For being a reflective learner who asks for suggestions to improve her learning and always acts on this feedback by placing her best effort into each task. |
3/4S | Hayden | For being a collaborative learner who contributes fairly in group tasks and works well with others. Hayden communicates well with his peers and has made a great start to the second half of Grade 3! |
5/6L | Aaron | For being a creative learner in writing, your ‘Me poem’ was creative and it reflected your strengths and ambitions. Keep up the great work Aaron!! |
5/6K | Aryan | For being a collaborative learner who offers support to classmates when the opportunity arises, especially in Mathematics and when providing technical support within the classroom. Your communication skills with your peers have grown this year, keep up the great work! |

Maanika, it has been wonderful to observe you settle into SMDP and be a great role model for your peers. You are always motivated to do your best and have begun to take extra time to add detail to your work. Fantastic effort, Maanika! |

1/2C | Ronicca | For being a collaborative learner who always looks out for others in the classroom. She ensures no one is left alone and welcomes them with a great big smile. Ronicca has not only been an amazing friend this week but has also been trying her best to improve her writing by using exciting vocabulary from the word wall. Well done Ronicca! |
1/2S | Travis | For being a motivated learner who has made special efforts to take part in learning discussions and share his thoughts with the class. He listens carefully to instructions to ensure he knows what is expected of him. Well done on being a focused learner Travis! |
